This video illustrates a procedure for upper lip lift. A young woman with an overlong upper lip wanted a more attractive facial presentation with a shorter and upturned upper lift. We perform a subnasal skin resection. The incision is made at the subnasal (inferior border of the columella-nostril-alar) region. After undermining the tissue between the subcutis and orbicularis oris muscle, the appropriate skin height is resected. The incision is then sutured delicately. Upper lip lift yields a significant esthetic effect with few complications. Both young women who want a more attractive upper lip with thick vermilion and older patients with philtrum elongation and inversion of the vermilion acquired with age can benefit from this procedure.
